Earlier today, the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) released a series of final rules and regulations that will amend the Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965 (P.L. 89-136). The final rule includes comprehensive changes that reflect EDA’s current practices and policies in administering its portfolio of economic development assistance programs.
Additionally, the rule incorporates changes to the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies (CEDS). EDA received feedback of key stakeholders such as NADO and its members in developing the Content Guidelines, which will be released shortly after publication of this Final Rule. This rule goes into effective on January 20, 2015. Click here to view the final rule. Click here to view a summary.
