OEA School Construction Grants Approved

On March 7, 2013, the Department of Defense announced the latest school construction grant from the Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA): $26,560,000 to Hawaii Department of Education, to renovate and expand the Hale Kula Elementary School on Wheeler Schofield Army Air Field, Hawaii.

On December 11, 2012, the Department of Defense (DoD) announced its latest transportation grant from the Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA) – an $18.3 million grant to the Maryland Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration (SHA) for the Maryland Route 185 (Connecticut Avenue) and Jones Bridge Road/Kensington Parkway intersection project for improved access to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda.

Section 8110 of Public Law 112-10, the Department of Defense and Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act, 2011, provided OEA $300 million "for transportation infrastructure improvements associated with medical facilities related to recommendations of the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission."
