On December 11, 2012, the Department of Defense (DoD) announced its latest transportation grant from the Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA) – an $18.3 million grant to the Maryland Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration (SHA) for the Maryland Route 185 (Connecticut Avenue) and Jones Bridge Road/Kensington Parkway intersection project for improved access to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda.

On December 11, 2012, the Department of Defense announced the latest school construction grants from the Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA): $35,247,240 to Geary County Unified School District # 475, to replace the Fort Riley Middle School on Fort Riley, Kansas; $18,070,606 to Vernon Parish School Board to replace South Fort Polk Elementary School on Fort Polk, Louisiana; and $57,161,689 to Sierra Sands Unified School District for two grants to replace Murray Middle School, and to expand Burroughs High School, on Naval Air Weapons Station, China Lake, California.

On September 14, 2012, the Department of Defense (DoD) awarded the latest two transportation grants from the Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA), including a $25 million grant to the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) to improve access to the San Antonio Military Medical Center, and a $7.3 million grant to the Maryland Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration (SHA) for the Maryland Route 187/West Cedar Lane/Oakmont Avenue intersection project for improved access to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda.

On September 14, 2012, the Department of Defense awarded the latest school construction grant of $37,134,368 from the Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA) to Lawton Public Schools for replacement of the Sheridan Road and Geronimo Road Elementary Schools on Fort Sill, Oklahoma with a single new school.
