This decision will affect up to 40,000 uniformed service members, nearly 17,000 Army civilian employees, their families, and the states and communities that support them. If an Army installation is selected for force realignment or reduction, impacted areas may qualify for assistance from OEA. OEA Transportation Infrastructure Grants Approved (3)

On December 11, 2012, the Department of Defense (DoD) announced its latest transportation grant from the Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA) – an $18.3 million grant to the Maryland Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration (SHA) for the Maryland Route 185 (Connecticut Avenue) and Jones Bridge Road/Kensington Parkway intersection project for improved access to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda.
