On July 9, 2015, the Army announced its Force Structure and Stationing Decisions. This decision will affect up to 40,000 uniformed service members, nearly 17,000 Army civilian employees, their families, and the states and communities that support them. If an Army installation is selected for force realignment or reduction, impacted areas may qualify for assistance from OEA. For more information, please contact David Kennedy, OEA Project Manager, at 703-697-2136 or david.r.kennedy.civ@mail.mil

The Secretary of Defense was previously authorized to establish a limited program to construct, renovate, repair, or expand elementary and secondary public schools on military installations in order to address capacity or facility condition deficiencies at such schools. In fiscal year 2015 Congress made available an additional $175 million for the program and included additional program requirements regarding cost sharing or matching applicable to the additional $175 million and any remaining unobligated balances for this program.

The April 23, 2015 Federal Register Notice further explains the additional program requirements regarding eligibility, cost sharing or matching and provides updated proposal and submission information and Federal award agency contact information for Public Schools on Military Installations program.
